General Overview

This role reports to the Head of Data & Insights and the primary focus is to support the data and insights team with the continued development of spend analysis data structure, business intelligence tools and visualisations for my client’s HQ and it’s wider network.

The role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work with stakeholders across several departments developing my client’s team’s analysis and reporting capabilities via their spend analysis tool. You will help to bring insights directly to the business, enabling my client to make informed data driven decisions on a daily basis.

Main Responsibilities

  • Interpret stakeholder reporting requirements, analyse data and provide outgoing reports
  • Identify and interpret trends/patterns in large datasets
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing validation reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code & data process problems
  • Produce and track key performance indicators
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the spend analysis tool’s reporting capabilities
  • Assist with system administration and issue resolution
  • Document end to end reporting process
  • Support the potential build of a savings & compliance reporting process, both off-line and via the tool
  • Be available to train and support end users on the use of my client’s spend analysis tool
  • Assist with communications process with different business levels internally
  • Be prepared to work on other complimentary spend reporting projects
  • Assist in opportunity analysis through further data investigation

Required experience:

  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Query building (MS SQL)
  • Competence in MS Office – including Project, Access and Excel
  • Experience of ETL such as Alteryx tools a plus
  • Willingness to learn new tools and systems
  • Technology experience or interest
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable in dealing with all levels of company executives
  • Team player but also able to determine workload and be self-motivated
  • General enthusiasm for growth and a willingness to be hands on
