Overview:

Reporting to the Board Account Director you will be responsible for leading the communications and marketing strategies (from concept development to market implementation) for a wide and varied client base including corporates, SMEs and government organisations.

Managing 2 Marketing Executives you will consult on the da-to-day online marketing presence of these clients and advising on digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications

  • Create and implement digital communications strategies for clients
  • Manage email, social media, PPC/adwords and outreach campaigns
  • Design analysis and report frameworks for communications strategies for new and existing clients
  • Lead internal knowledge-sharing and quality control around digital communications

Marketing

  • Oversee the design, planning and implementation of direct mail campaigns, working closely with design
  • Work with the team to produce inspiring and compelling marketing materials
  • Media planning and buying – print and online, direct mail
  • Marketing quality control

Account management

  • Drive clients’ overall digital communications strategy with understanding of their business
  • Produce business development proposals to my client’s standards and formats, working alongside the Business Development team and the Director
  • Maximising opportunities for business development with existing clients – cross-selling the client’s capabilities

Project management

  • Lead delivery of digital communications and marketing projects to schedule, budget and quality standard
  • Appoint and manage freelance staff and suppliers
  • Involve and brief staff across the company where appropriate e.g. Projects team for implementation
  • Input to and support projects led by other teams e.g. Digital concept and usability issues

Team management

  • Recruit, train and develop team members and identify career development paths
  • Line manage and motivate team to meet business demands across marketing channels
  • Daily contact with team of Digital Comms Executive/Manager and Board Account Director
  • Daily contact with clients (email and phone)
  • Regular face to face contact with clients
  • Regular contact with suppliers

Internal and external relationships

  • Daily contact with team of Digital Comms Executive/Manager and Board Account Director
  • Daily contact with clients (email and phone)

  • Frequent contact with Projects Director, Head of Digital, Account Directors and Senior Account Managers

Performance standards

  • Projects are delivered within budget and to agreed time frames. Problems are resolved independently or where necessary, raised with Board Account Director as appropriate
  • Resources are allocated to projects in cost-effective manner
  • Budgeting and billing are accurate and timely, with a clear understanding of the company’s profitability
  • Own written work (proposals, reports, marketing material) is accurate, appropriate and requires little or no editing
  • Proposals for new and existing clients are produced to acceptable standard and to deadline, with a measurable success rate
  • Makes an identifiable contribution to the team’s income stream
  • Staff are appraised annually and training/development plans agreed and implemented
  • Knowledge of and interest in education is demonstrated to clients and colleagues – incl. at least 1 school visit per year
  • Meetings and presentations are well planned and executed
  • Clients’ ad hoc feedback and input into 360 degree reviews is positive
