The Communications Executive will be responsible for supporting all internal and external communications for Western Europe. This includes proactively driving West Europe consumer, B2B, corporate and press office activity as well as managing reactive situations, such as issues. This person will be an integral part of the marketing and communications team and will be involved in a huge number of exciting projects to drive my client’s business forward in 2018.
Job Duties
- Managing the day to day consumer and B2B press office and product review strategy, pro-actively working with the comms team to make sure that my clients product is featured across top tier traditional, online and social media
- Handling media opportunities and other incoming enquiries from 11 countries in West Europe
- Managing agencies in each country in West Europe and co-ordinating outgoing communication and incoming reports from each market
- Building direct relationships with key journalists across target media in all West Europe countries
- Integrating with Global social teams and agencies to exploit opportunities across all relevant channels
- Developing joint press office activities with our trusted network and retail partners
- Monitoring the news agenda and reporting back on hot topics and potential opportunities
- Managing coverage and reporting back to the business
- Writing media materials including press releases, quotes and reactive statements
- Managing and sharing press kit materials
- Working with the comms team and the business to uncover interesting trends and data that can be used to fuel a proactive press office
- Supporting with internal comms activity
Personal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organisational and planning skills are essential
- Experience of working with the media either as part of an agency or a business
- Experience of working in a busy press office and working under pressure
- Experience of preparing various media materials including statements, Q&A’s, spokespeople briefings
- Ability to establish relationships with people at all levels
- Seen as a credible ambassador for the brands and able to influence external audiences in an appropriate manner
- Ability to work independently and manage own time to hit tight deadlines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Five years of PR experience, either in house with a technology company or working with a tech client at an agency
- Fluent in English, second language preferable but not essential
- A good understanding of European media landscape
