This role will require remote working, preferably in Germany or other Germanic countries

The Commercial and Marketing Manager (Media) will provide the group with local expertise and insights into the important Germanic market. The role will be focused on three main areas:

  1. Market insights and opportunities
  2. Media strategy and buying
  3. Market development projects

The successful candidate will be proactively looking for new marketing and business opportunities for the Group as well as providing actionable feedback to the product verticals on how to improve and adapt products and promotional offerings to be suitable for the Germanic market. You will work closely with the Media and Marketing Development Director for the region, as well as with various internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

To be undertaken in line with the Group’s marketing strategy, with all findings reported to the relevant Vertical team and Group management.

  • Responsible for liaising with market ATL media companies
  • Responsible for presenting the Group’s media strategy and plans to all verticals
  • Maintain relationships with local media agencies
  • Monitor the budget allocated by the brands and report on spendings
  • Identify opportunities to increase or save budget (TV optimisation)
  • Recommend TV slots for placing AFPs
  • Identify and report on new TV formats and TV opportunities (product placements, integrations, etc.)
  • Responsible for reporting internally on the local media market
  • Responsible for TV campaign analysis, pre/post ROI and dynamic learning and reporting the results
  • Help to identify potential co-branding opportunities and market opportunities (sponsorships, partners, lobby, payments, etc.)
  • Responsible for market analysis including tracking on competitors activity
  • Responsible for providing verticals with market insights in terms of target behaviours, language differences, market trends, advertising trends, etc.
  • Monitor market and industry developments on a monthly basis
  • Monitor localization of products and communications on a quarterly basis

Essential Skills and Capabilities

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and German is a must
  • Previous media management experience in the Germanic region
  • Ideally 5 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably within a sports or betting environment
  • Ability and flexibility to work well under tight deadlines and multi-task
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to foster good working relationships
  • Proficient in preparing reports with competitor analysis
  • Well organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise various projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with third party agencies and media owners
  • Knowledge of or an interest in online poker, casino and sportsbook is an asset but not essential
